Theoretical and practical studies about the needs of police interventions over the citizens in our democratic society under the rule of law, according to guidelines of the United Nations in order to protect the citizens have been developed by University of Cádiz and “Escuela para la Prevención de la Violencia”. These studies, from the point of view of prevention of occupational risks and the prevention of risks in general, offer protocols, techniques and procedures of police intervention specifically focused to the work of the forces and security units, which we call Operational Police Tactic (OTP).



OTP improved and worked hard. His procedures have been specialized under the Project I+D+I DER 2012-35997-C03-03,02 developed by University of Cádiz and University of Granada and subsidized by the Government of Spain, between 2012 -2015. This project includes different fields as legal – criminological, medical – legal and technical – scientific.



OTP is the only training on police intervention guaranteed under scientific I+D+I investigation. OTP trained professional of public and private security from different police and military units.



The theoretical and practical training detected some hurdles in preparation, on the level of physical intervention as well as the use of police gear. These aspects are shown in different manuals, written by D. José Carlos Vera Jimenez, a highly specialized researcher and member of the investigation team of the I+D+I project in scientific - technical and medical – legal field.
